I intended the lighting to be slightly theatrical, because I wanted to focus just on the man and the dog. Nothing else was important. I didn't want people dwelling on the setting or the season. Even so, it's impossible not to appreciate the fine detail-the shape of the bench, the knots in the wood, the texture of the man's hat, the rich red of his shirt, and the softness of the dog's fur.

Forever Friends is more of a portrait. Basically, the two paramount things here are the expressions on their faces and the interaction between the dog and the man. - JW
