This Chiricahua Apache warrior is returning to camp down river with his pack horse laden with goods that he may have obtained in trade, but we will never know for sure. Every camp had many dogs always present to complain or greet old friends upon their arrival. Both Cochise and Geronimo were Chiricahua and this band of Apache was the last to oppose the U.S. government’s control of their ancestral lands. - HT
