My intention was to create interesting patterns using an Indian on horseback in snow, a blue blanket, headress, and Crow equipment. The horse, well protected from the cold by a heavy growth of winter hair, does not resemble most of the higher-bred types common today. The native Indian pony tended to be relatively small by modern standards, making up in stamina and heart what it lacked in size. - HT
