This (area in the Bitterroot Mountains of Montana) had long been an area patrolled by the Blackfoot. I wanted to acquire a feeling for their world and domain. When the land suddenly dropped off to a canyon below, I could imagine how Blackfoot scouts or hunters might have felt on the same spot over a century ago.
