Dean Morrissey was raised in Massachusetts and has drawn and created since childhood. In the 70s, he worked full time as an illustrator - a career which he refers to as his "art school." In 1991, he began painting images from a story that he was creating. Both the book and art worlds took note, and he soon was in demand for his inventive stories - and for his fine art. His books include Ship of Dreams, The Great Kettles, The Song of Celestine, The Christmas Ship, The Moon Robber, The Winter King, The Wizard Mouse and The Monster Trap. His awards include The Society of Illustrator's Gold Medal and The Chesley Award. He is published by Gallery Giclées.
