The Sioux works a hunt from different sides. The spear man worked from the right to get more power into his thrusts, while the bow man worked from the left to get the arrow in behind the buffalo’s rib and into its heart. Often the hunters would try to break the herd up into several smaller groups and run them around in circles, so the buffalo would fall over each other. - FM
