As they basked in the glow of the moonshine that night.

This charming portrait depticts five Holsteins partaking in winter evening's pleasures.The farm where this took place is about a mile from my home. When I was driving around the countryside, looking for neat things to paint, I passed these cows. The moon was giving them an extraordinary aura, and I really felt like I was witnessing something secret and special. That's the feeling I wanted to keep when I rushed to my studio to communicate the experience. - BM
