During a vist last summer to a Wyoming ranch, I observed this magnificent pair of Black Labs retrieving and spotting for their owner. I've seen some fo the finest birding dogs in the country and these epitomized the best. One partner was always keenly aware what the other was doing - the younger (in the foreground) often taking cues from the older, more experienced birder (background). Instinctive and learned, their teamwork and synchronicity were spellbinding. - BM
