This is St. Nicholas on whom the Santa Claus character is based. And when it comes down to it, this is my vision of what this wonderful, magical character could be, and how he does all the things he does. St. Nicholas doesn't leave toys, per se; he leaves good things - good feelings, good energy. That's what the toys represent.
