Along the back roads of Mexico, there are great little houses like this. I enjoy painting busier scenes, but my favorite subjects tend to be simple. A few rooms with a roof, transportation at hand, and food on the table. Don't we sometimes dream about a life like that? This piece reminded me of an old song by Gene Autry, "South of the Border, Down Mexico Way." - GH
