In larger cities, newspaper boys often claimed prime corner locations as their territory. Once a corner was staked out, diligent efforts were made to maintain the rights to this territory. Here, a smaller newsboy's territory has been challenged by a larger newsboy and his friend. I wanted to capture the moment before the smaller boy is forced to make his decision either to fight for or retreat from his territory. The viewer will never know what decision is made. - JD
