The trumpeter swan has made a successful return to Yellowstone, and it seems to do well there now. Every time I have gone to the area for fieldwork, I have seen many of them - mostly in the remote wetlands, but sometimes close to the main road. The best sightings were while hiking - coming upon an isolated pond in a forest where a few resting swans were cleaning their feathers such as in this image. - CB
