You may be either an Action Comics reader or a Godzilla fan. Do you notice that Doug painted this in such a way that the items up close are sharp and in focus and the items further away are a bit out of focus. How cool is that?

Even after a year, you will still notice new things in the painting whenever you look at it. Look at the bag of marbles. You probably had that exact bag of marbles when you was a kid. And you probably recognize a lot of those marbles too. If only you had kept them (read if only your Mom hadn’t thrown them out when you went to college).

Doug loves the sensation of painting different textures. Quote from Doug: “For me, it is a challenge. Can I do this? Can I paint in oil paint to look like a Crayola mark on a coloring book? Can I paint newspaper to look like a newspaper? Or plastic to look like plastic?"
