Art Auction Rules

Hundreds of art buyers have saved tons of money by purchasing from Gallery One art auctions! Our auctions bring you great buys on gallery stock, resales, specials, overstocks and "as is" items. Web auctions will open weekly and will close weekly. Winners' credit cards will be automatically charged when the auction has closed.

This is a REAL AUCTION run on the web by a real, licensed auctioneer.

By bidding, the bidder certifies that he/she has read the auction rules and regulations and agrees to comply with them.

HERE'S HOW TO BID. Click ART AUCTION (or use the button in the navigation menu above) and open our list of auction items. Click an item for more information and/or to enlarge an image. Click the BID button to open the bid dialogue. Enter your information and click "submit" to send us your bid. A Gallery One representative may contact you by phone to confirm your bid. (Note that there is NO buyer's premium... a significant savings to the bidder.)

ABOUT THE ART

Items are sold "as is, where is" with no warranties expressed or implied. Information has been collected from sources thought to be accurate such as the publisher and/or artist and from visual inspection in an effort to assist the bidder. Sizes are approximate. Every effort has been made to accurately reproduce the color of the art and any associated framing on the web, but color representation on individual monitors may vary. Items are subject to prior sale or to withdrawal from auction.

All items are unframed unless noted. If you are the winning bidder of an unframed item, and you wish to have us frame the item for you, let us know and our framing department will be happy to assist you in frame selection after the auction closes. In cases where an image shows a framed item, your framing my be similar but not necessarily identical to the framing shown.

Items are MINT according to Gallery One's strict rating system. However, they may be without certificates (also known as COAs, certs, or certificates of authenticity). If an item is not mint, such will be disclosed in the description of the item.

"Signed" indicates "hand-signed" by the artist. "Signed and numbered" or "s/n" indicates that the item is both hand-signed and numbered.

Most items are one only. Occasional items may exist in multiples.

SHIPPING

All items may be picked up at Gallery One, Mentor OH. Upon request, paid items may be stored at Gallery One for a period of time not to exceed six months pending pick up by purchaser. Storage charges may apply to items held in excess of 180 days. All stored items are property of the purchaser; the purchaser should maintain insurance to cover any losses.

All items are F.O.B. Mentor OH.

When shipping, purchaser is responsible for the costs of packing, shipping, and handling. Items will be shipped rolled in a tube. The charge is usually $25 for packing, handling and shipping fees. There will be additional charges for items shipped out of the contiguous 48 states. Gallery One will give a price quote for items shipped flat. Packing, shipping and handling charges as indicated will automatically be charged to the purchasers credit card prior to the item being shipped. These charges may appear as separate transactions.

When shipping glassed items, Gallery One may elect to remove the glass for the safety of the art (leaving the purchaser responsible for obtaining and installing glass at the destination) or the purchaser may elect to have Gallery One install plexiglas on said art. (Ask for quotes). These decisions are made by our shipping department and the purchaser.

If a bidder receives an auction item that has been damaged in shipping, it is the bidder's responsibility to save all packing materials so the carrier can conduct an investigation.

PAYMENT

Fill out all of the bidder information. Note that your bid must be equal to or greater than the NEXT BID as stated.

Hit the SUBMIT button.

Auction sales are deemed final. When you become the winning bidder at auction, you have effected a legal contract and you are expected to pay for such items along with applicable taxes.

Note that your credit card must be "on file" at Gallery one to authenticate your bid. No charges will appear on bidder's credit card unless that bidder is the winning bidder. Items not paid for in full within a timely fashion will revert to back-up bidders.

Gallery One will contact bidders to obtain credit card information (or the bidder can call Alan Brown... or his associates... - 800-621-1141 / 440-255-1200 - to relay such information). Bidder authorizes Gallery One to use such information to charge his/her account if he/she is a winning bidder. Bidder agrees that standard packing and shipping fees will be charged to his/her credit card. Shipping charges may appear separately. Whenever possible, multiple items will be shipped together in order to minimize shipping fees.

Taxes and duties for "OUT OF USA" delivery are solely the responsibility of the purchaser. If paid by Gallery One, bidder understands that such fees will be charged to his/her credit card.

In the case of duplicate bids, both the timing of the bid and the time credit card information was received by Gallery One will be considered. In the event of a bidding dispute, the auctioneer's decision is final.
