Built between 1888 - 1896 in Asheville, N.C. for George W. Vanderbilt, "Biltmore House" is America's largest residence. The estate is visited by more than 1,000,000 dazzled tourists each year. My challenge in painting Elegant Evening at Biltmore was not to convey the heroic scale of this fairy-tale castle, but to make it warmly personal. I utilized glittering lights to suggest a festive evening affair in progress. I invite you to climb aboard your elegant coach and join the celebration. - T. K.

In 1990, when I launched my decade-long celebration of the season with Christmas Cottage, I had no clear idea of the challenges ahead. As I close it with Evening Glow I can tell you I also had no idea of the pleasures that awaited. - T. K.

I walked the sylvan to find the idyllic hideaway I portray in Evening in the Forest. The cabin is bathed in a welcoming amber light. The wilderness of wood and stream has not been tamed; it's been softened by this hint of the comfort of home. - T. K.

Evening on the Avenue, is a nostalgic look back to a time when families strolled America's Main Streets to mix and meet and conduct business. A clearing dusk paints the scene with a silvery softness as gas lamps and windows blaze gold and amber; rain-washed pavement adds a festive glow. The painting has a symbolic message: the peacefulness and serenity of traditional communities are still the heart of any nation. T. K.

In a dream I walked a fragrant path, and emerged through a gate to see a garden that loved me. My blooms surrounded me, and I tended them with care because I loved them. Perhaps a family is like that garden; each child a delicate rose that with the nurturing of a gardener can flourish and bring beauty to the world. Our newest little "bloom" is our daughter Everett. On her first birthday, I present this garden, and this cottage, in her honor! - T. K.

Red SoxT fans are sure to admire this handsome and historic watercolor study of Fenway ParkT. Through the incredible circumstances of the Red SoxT coming back from a 2 game deficit to the Cleveland Indians in the race for the Pennant, Thom had the honor of commemorating this humble and charming stadium on the same day that the Red Sox won Game 7! This image captures the excitement and spontaneity of that day and will be released as a time limited print. The collectors' print will be printed with a dark green border including the image title, the Major League Baseball T logo and the Boston Red SoxT logo. The print measures 16x20 and is for framing. - T. K.

When you see only one set of footprints, It was then that I carried you. The parable about footprints in the sand, which reminds us that in times of personal pain God is there to carry us through, resonates for me with profound truth. My Footprints In the Sand takes us to a charming coastal town to exploore the interweaving of the human and spiritual elemnets of our lives. The scene bustles with human activity - families strolling the pier, fishermen, even my first-ever portrayal of a surfer. The busy people are bathed in the heavenly light of sunset, and flocks of gulls, like messengers from Heaven, descend from the glorious sky. Two pairs of footprints in the sand narrow to one, reminding us that, when our human lives are troubled God will always be a constant guide and steady support. - T. K.

The Forest Chapel portrays a daydream I've had many times: often while hiking some wooded trail I've come upon a spectacular flowering meadow and thought - what a wonderful place to worship God. A Holy Spirit dwells in the chapel and in the glade that houses it. Both proclaim the presence of God. - T. K.

Perhaps in a garden we are closer to our Creator. We certainly are closer to His creation. My prayer is that this painted garden will be a meeting place for many that would speak to their God in the silence of morning. Or the silence of evening. Or anytime in between. In our imagination we might picture His presence at our side. Or is it just our imagination? Do we see in the distance a gentle visitor approaching the gate? - T. K.

	All of us, I believe, carry a memory of Eden. Life began in that garden, and for me, many of the good things in life are still to be found in gardens. When I came upon the blooming Spring Gate, I accepted its invitation to explore - partly to satisfy a secret longing for the splendid gardens I expected to discover within. And, since this is a locale of the imagination, I haven't been disappointed. Once you have entered, the gentle fragrant breezes and the calming trickle of water will keep you wandering endlessly. What could possibly be closer to paradise? - T. K..

Gingerbread Cottage is based on a real 19th Century house I discovered in Southern England. The whimsical structure with its brick, stone, wood filigree, shingle siding, awnings, dormers, and spires, revels in a spirit of romantic excess. Here is the fairy tale charm of Hansel and Gretel's Gingerbread Cottage brought to life. The front garden is a riot of rainbow colors with lavish flowers dancing in the evening breeze.
