Scott Gustafson's imagination has created Elfminster Abbey in Fairyland, a place where Wee Friars like Brother Avery (the caretaker of all things furred and feathered) and Brother Folio Scrivner (illuminated manuscript maker) live and work. Christmastime is special in Fairyland - it is a time where all the creatures of the forest, both real and magical, come together in the spirit of brotherhood. Scott says: "It is this celebration of the natural and the spiritual world that I hope to bring to life in three-dimensional form with my Wee Friars. These king and generous little citizens of Fairyland embody the joyous, giving spirit of Christmas." |

Froggy Goes A-Wooing, speaks volumes for all lovers of romance. The well-known original ditty, Froggy Went A-Courting, only gives our hero an opera hat to impress his paramour, but it seemed to Gustafson that candy, flowers, and a surprise gift might also aid this amorous amphibian in his ardent quest. |

This porcelain takes a charming spin on an old tale. Mr. and Mrs. Bear stroll along a lichen-covered and rocky path, he with his pipe and she with her parasol. They are waiting for their porridge to cool, along with their playful little baby bear. Meanwhile, back at the house, Goldilocks has found the porridge that's not too hot, and not too cold - but just right - S. G. |

The more you view Little Red Riding Hood And the Wolf the more enjoyable their personalities become. He; a smooth-talking cunning behind a veil of moth-eaten charm, and she; innocently flattered but seemingly knowing what fate had in store at Grandma's house...! |

From the serving girl's delightful expression through the sumptuous detailing of the clothing, decorations, setting, and furniture (we especially love the "mouse 'n cheese" chair!) to the little character's own "animal magnetism," this image of the internationally famous feline defies categorization. Lovers of art, fantasy, and cats will agree; Scott Gustafson has created a new timeless, ageless "treasure for the child in each of us." |

Gustafson takes us back to another fairy tale - this time one with a light-hearted moral. he says: "The Tortoise and the Hare is one of the most popular stories in children's literature... thanks to Bugs Bunny. Bugs did no less than three versions of the fable in his classic cartoons - but all supported the original tale's double moral: slow and steady wins the race while it's not wise to be too sure of yourself. Or my own interpretation of what the rabbit learns: don't let success catch you napping!" |
