| GREGORY CLAIR - BIOGRAPHY |
Gregory Clair is winner of the Ohio Wetland Habitat Stamp Design Contest for 2006. It is the second win for the artist in the annual competition conducted by the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Clair's painting of a northern pintail graces the 2006 stamp, more commonly known as the Ohio Duck Stamp.
The Clair entry outpointed a field of 28 original paintings by artists from 14 states, including 11 entries from Ohio. Judging was done at the Ohio Ducks Unlimited annual meeting in Wilmington OH.
"I hope that my love of the outdoors is represented in my painting," said Clair.
In 1991, he won the competition with a painting of a greater scaup or bluebill.
Clair placed fourth in the prestigious Federal Duck Stamp Competition in 2004. In addition, he was the Ohio Ducks Unlimited "Artist of the Year" for 2005.
His limited editions and original paintings are exhibited at Gallery One. |
