Son and grandson of well known illustrators, Christopher Blossom studied at Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs and at Parsons School of Design in New York City.  In 1977, he was awarded the Gold Medal at the Society of Illustrators Annual Scholarship Exhibition.

His love of the sea has led him naturally to marine painting. His sailing experiences, including the unique opportunity of sailing under square rig aboard the brigantine Young America, combined with careful research, adds an air of authenticity to his work.

Chris is a charter, and artist member of the American Society of Marine Artists.  His paintings have appeared on book covers, and he is represented in many private collections across the country. He has participated in numerous exhibitions, including: The Greenwich Workshop Gallery annual marine exhibitions, National  Oceans Week in Washington, D.C., The Society of Illustrators annual exhibitions, the annual Great Lakes Marine Exhibitions, The Whitehall Club, The Newport American Sail Training Association Show, and the annual exhibitions of The American Society of Marine Artists.
