OUR E-MAIL POLICY
We respect your privacy, so we NEVER sell or trade our email or snail mail addresses. As a courtesy, people who email inquiries are included on our very private email list so that they will get advance notices of artist shows, special events, sales and new releases. To unsubscribe, click the link at the bottom of your email.
PRICING
"Issue price" refers to the price established by the publisher or artist when the item is released. We maintain that price as long as possible. Once the item is "sold out" and only available thru "secondary" or "resale" sources, pricing can vary day by day or hour by hour as resales occur. In such instances, the prices you see on our website may represent the last of those items sold as opposed to today's price. That is why we often tell you to "email" for pricing. And that is why prices often change without notice. For your convenience, items are priced without frames unless otherwise indicated.

Errors in pricing and information with regard to sizes and data seldom occur as our staff makes every effort to be accurate. However, should a mistake in our listings occur, the buyer agrees that Gallery One will not be held responsible for errors and/or omissions.
READ THIS!

In compliance with Federal Copyright Laws, the art work you are purchasing is legally yours, yet the artist retains the copyright in and to the image, including all reproduction rights.

Relative to original art, you may be requested by the artist to lend him/her the artwork for a period of time so that it may be photographed under the direction of the artist. Or the work may be requested for use in a museum exhibition. In all such instances, shipping and insurance will be handled by the artist or by Gallery One on behalf of the artist.

Such exposure is extremely desireable as it usually enhances the value of the art.

So that we may locate original art if needed, we ask that you notify Gallery One should you relocate or transfer the ownership of the art that you are purchasing from Gallery One.

For two years, I taught high school geography in southeast Nigeria. It was a remarkable experience not only because of the high scholastic demands of the students and the rich and complex West African culture, but also because of the natural environment of the tropical rainforest. As soon as I was established and had got my bearings of the local area, I sent word out to the nearby villages that I would pay money for small wildlife. Most of these went to the collection of the Carleton University Museum, but some went to the Bronx Zoo Small Animal House. The most spectacular of these were the bush babies. There are a number of species of bush baby. Ours was the seldom seen Demidov's galago. If we humans are at the top of the primate family tree then lemurs are at the evolutionary bottom. Demidov's galago is the smallest member of our family. A full grown adult would nicely fill a teacup. We had five of them and although they lived in cages we would take them out one at a time to play around the room and around us. They would scamper over our heads and poke their fingers in our ears, which resulted in a sticky feeling. Afterwards I learned that, being nocturnal, they would find their way back to their nest in the forest canopy by urinating on their hands and feet on their way out, and that is why they were sticky. I have shown this one eyeing a large tropical beetle which it may or may not succeed in catching. RB
